FAQs

Ordering

Why is a specific print type, size, etc. not available?

We have taken time to consider what print types and sizes are offered for each of our collections so as to provide you with options that make sense rather than overwhelm you with endless choices. Additionally, for some of our largest sizes, framing and shipping is not feasible without special arrangements. In the case of our Beautiful Places Collection, we happily offer larger sizes in our fine art paper so that you can choose a local framer and enjoy.

All that being said, if you have a special request, please contact us at hello@johnstonarthouse.com.

Can I request a specific print type, size, etc.?

Please do! We will make every effort to work with you to accommodate special requests.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal.

When will my credit card be billed?

Your credit card or payment service will be billed at time of order.

Will I pay tax on my order?

Yes. Sales tax will be calculated and included, as applicable.

Do you sell gift cards?

Processing

How long will it take to custom make my art?

We know you’re excited to receive your art—however, custom takes time. Please allow a 2-4 week turnaround (including shipping).

Shipping & Returns

How much is shipping?

Shipping is FREE within the continental United States. Additional charges and time may apply when shipping to Alaska or Hawaii.

Do you ship worldwide?

We sure do! Currently, the site is only set up to process shipping in the United States, but contact us at hello@johnstonarthouse.com and we will process your order. Please note, additional charges and time may apply.

Can you ship to a PO box?

We cannot.

When will my order arrive once shipped?

We ship FedEx Ground. Shipping time generally takes 5-7 business days within the continental United States.

Is my art insured during transit?

Yes. We will cover any damages that occur during transit from our production facility to the destination address listed on your order.

What happens if my package arrived damaged?

We work hard to ensure the risk of damage during transit is low, but things do happen. If your package arrives damaged or broken, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will need a copy of the shipping receipt and photographic proof of the damage. Once it is determined that the damage occurred during shipping, we will happily replace the art at no cost to you.

What is your return policy?

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it (you are responsible for applicable return shipping costs) within 14 days of receipt and receive store credit for a future purchase.

The Art

Will the art be signed?

All prints from our Beautiful Places Collection will be signed in the lower right-hand corner. Call it “traditional,” but we feel landscape art is not complete without the artist’s signature! Our other collections, however, do not have a signature on the art itself. ALL prints include a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

How do I hang my art?

Your art will be shipped with the appropriate hanging equipment already attached to the back of the frame. Picture hangers and/or wall anchors are recommended but not included.

How do I care for my art?

On framed fine art prints, use a soft, dry, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth (microfiber, for instance). Spray or dampen the cloth with a cleaner. We recommend mild, non-abrasive, non-ammonia glass cleaner, such as eyeglass lens cleaner. Do not spray directly onto the surface. Gently wipe the surface from the center of the piece out to the edge.

For all other print types (acrylic, metal, wood, and canvas) use a soft, dry, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth (microfiber, for instance). Do not use any cleaner. Gently wipe the surface from the center of the piece out to the edge.

Other

Why aren't your prints limited editions?

Every artist makes a personal decision whether to have limited or open editions based on a number of factors. JOHNSTON Art House was created as a way of sharing our art with as many people as possible—we, therefore, do not currently limit print production.

Why do you use plexiglass for framed paper prints?

Not only is plexiglass the industry standard and contains more UV protection, but plexiglass is also both lighter and less breakable compared to glass. The standard UV plexiglass we use for framed paper prints filters 85-89% of UV and 92% of light.
